The sandy beach at Lake Walen
The bathing place lies directly at the edge of the forest and attracts with one of the few sandy beaches of Switzerland. There is also a playground for children at Restaurant Gäsi, a raft in Lake Walen and various fireplaces. In the wooded area behind the beach is the Gäsi campsite run by the Glarnerland Tent Club, whose guests also enjoy the beautiful sandy beach. Toilet facilities, changing rooms and showers are available. Admission is free of charge. The beach of Gäsi is unguarded and can be entered all year round. The Camping-Gäsi and Gäsi-Bistro are open from the end of March to the end of October. Car drivers will find parking spaces at the bistro (motorway exit Weesen, follow the signs in the direction of "Gäsi").
