Museum & Gallery Weesen
Learn more about Lake Walen and Weesen
In the middle of the small town of Weesen, easily accessible by public transport and only three minutes' walk from the harbour, a modern building and interestingly equipped exhibition rooms invite visitors to visit the museum. Among other things, medieval objects are exhibited in the Weesen Museum, which were recovered through excavations in Weesen. The finds range from weapons to furnishings to pieces of ship. The museum also houses a collection of watercolour and oil paintings by the "Weesen & Walensee - Claudio Flütsch" Foundation and informs its visitors about the Romans and their traces in the region. Guided tours are also possible.
On three floors as a permanent exhibition:
- The Romans at Lake Walen
- Weesen in the Middle Ages
- Painting from the Romantic period with the subject Lake Walen
