FAQ about Corona virus
Due to increasing case numbers, the Federal Council has taken new measures valid throughout Switzerland, which will come into force on Monday, January 18, 2021. Stricter rules apply in some cantons. Click here for the official information pages of the cantons of St. Gallen and Graubünden.

The ski areas in the canton of St. Gallen are open, subject to compliance with the relevant protection concepts. Further information on the current offer and any restrictions can be found on the websites of the ski resorts Flumserberg and Pizol.

The Flumserberg and Pizol cableways inform about the current measures concerning ski operation in the region on their respective websites. In general, the Federal Council issued generally valid rules for ski areas (as of December 11, 2020). These include:
- Gondolas and cable cars may only be filled up to two thirds of their capacity.
- It is compulsory to wear masks when queuing, on lifts, in cable cars and gondolas.
- A minimum distance of 1.5 meters must be maintained when queuing.

A mask must be worn in all indoor areas accessible to the public. The mask requirement for over 12-year-olds applies in all churches, shopping stores, train stations, airports, bus and streetcar stops, and hotels. In public transport, the mask obligation has already been in place since the summer. Detailed information on the compulsory wearing of masks can be found on the information page of the BAG.

Restaurants, bars, stores, markets, museums, libraries, and sports and recreational facilities are closed until further notice. Stores and markets are closed from January 18. Excluded are stores and markets that offer goods for daily use.

Hotels and accommodations such as holiday apartments or campsites open under observance of special protection concepts. For hotel guests, the hotel infrastructure such as wellness facilities or gastronomy may continue to be maintained. It is advisable to contact the respective company directly on site to find out about any restrictions imposed by the current measures to combat Covid-19.

Public meetings are prohibited until further notice. Meetings in public spaces are limited to 5 people.

There is an obligation to report and quarantine for people entering the country from certain countries and areas. Persons who have stayed in a state or area with an increased risk of infection and then enter Switzerland must be placed in quarantine. Further information on this subject can be found on the website of the BAG.
