Salenegg Castle, the oldest vineyard in Europe

Wine has been grown at Schloss Salenegg since 1068 and Schloss Salenegg has been owned by the Gugelberg von Moos family since 1654. From generation to generation, knowledge and experience have been passed on with courage and foresight, along with a deep respect for nature. All of Schloss Salenegg's products - the wine, the distillates, the Delikat vinegar and the cold-pressed oil - are grown and cultivated close to nature with love, diligence and skill.

Helene v. Gugelberg, who today directs the fortunes of Schloss Salenegg, initiated the biggest restructuring of the viticulture since 1906 in 2020. In addition to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the new varieties, Sauvignac and Cabernet blanc have been introduced. The newly planted vineyards are also designed to allow for the greatest possible biodiversity and the mechanical work can be carried out by autonomous vehicles at a later date. At Schloss Salenegg, the oldest winery in Europe, the focus on the future has a long tradition.
