Lake Walen & surroundings

The fjord-like lake, the imposing Churfirsten and a mild microclimate characterise the region of Lake Walen

Lake Walen in the east of Switzerland is bordered on its northern side by the steeply rising Churfirsten. The scenery with the deep blue lake and the steep rock faces is reminiscent of a Norwegian fjord. A special feature is the car-free wine village of Quinten, which can only be reached on foot or by boat. Here the mild climate allows kiwis and figs to thrive. Between Weesen and Quinten, the three-tiered Seerenbach Falls, which are among the highest waterfalls in Switzerland, also attract visitors. Whether an extended walk along the lake shore, a sunbath on the beach or a leisurely boat trip, whether water sports, hiking or biking: The area around Lake Walen is perfect for active guests.
